2026 Australia policy update for Nepali applicants: Nepal was moved back to Assessment Level 3 in an out-of-cycle re-rating on 8 January 2026. Applicants must lodge decision-ready Subclass 500 applications with complete financials, English test scores, and a Genuine Student (GS) statement, part of the GS requirement that replaced the older Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) test on 23 March 2024. Living-cost financial evidence is AUD 29,710 per year, plus tuition and travel. Work rules allow 48 hours per fortnight during study terms (unlimited during breaks). The Temporary Graduate visa (Subclass 485) applies an age cap of 35 for Bachelor and Master-by-coursework applicants (Master-by-research and PhD graduates keep the higher under-50 cap); regional graduates get a 2-year PSW extension. Subclass 500 visa application fee is AUD 2,500, and the Subclass 485 fee is AUD 5,750 (both effective 1 July 2026).
