Our editorial standard
The Next Education Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. publishes practical, government-verified guidance for Nepali students planning to study abroad. Every article that appears under our name on thenext.edu.np is written and reviewed to a defined standard. This page explains that standard so students, parents, and universities can hold us to it.
Who writes and reviews our content
Content on thenext.edu.np is produced by our internal counselling and compliance teams and reviewed by The Next Education Expert Panel. The Panel comprises senior counsellors and migration-aware staff drawn from our head office in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu and our support offices in Sydney and Sri Lanka. The organisation has been operating in Nepal for over 20 years and is accredited by the American International Recruitment Council (AIRC).
Every published guide displays a visible “Reviewed by The Next Education Expert Panel” line with the last-updated date and a link to at least one official source.
Sources we cite
We cite only official government sources or official test-provider websites. Examples we routinely use:
- Australia: Australian Department of Home Affairs (immi.homeaffairs.gov.au), Department of Education (education.gov.au), VETASSESS, Engineers Australia, Architects Accreditation Council of Australia (AACA).
- Canada: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (canada.ca).
- United Kingdom: UK Government (gov.uk), Home Office, British Council, Chevening, Commonwealth Scholarship Commission.
- United States: U.S. Department of State (travel.state.gov), U.S. Embassy Nepal (np.usembassy.gov), USTravelDocs, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ice.gov / SEVIS), College Board, ETS.
- New Zealand: Immigration New Zealand (immigration.govt.nz).
- Netherlands: Immigration and Naturalisation Service (ind.nl), DUO, Nuffic.
- Germany, Ireland and other EU: the responsible national migration authority.
- Nepal-side compliance: Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (moest.gov.np), Nepal Rastra Bank, Inland Revenue Department, Tribhuvan University, CTEVT, NEB.
- Standardised tests: IELTS.org, Pearson PTE, College Board Bluebook, ETS TOEFL/GRE, GMAC/mba.com, Duolingo English Test.
Where a claim relies on a private third-party source (for example, a specific university’s course page), we link to that university’s own website.
What we do not do
- We do not cite competitor consultancies as authoritative sources.
- We do not use unverified figures. If we cannot confirm a number from a government or official source, we do not publish it.
- We do not guarantee visa outcomes or admission decisions. Every outcome depends on the individual application and the discretion of the relevant government authority.
- We do not provide legal advice. We are education counsellors, not registered migration agents in most jurisdictions. Where migration advice is required, we refer to a MARN-registered agent in Australia or an equivalent regulated adviser in other countries.
- We do not accept payment to alter our editorial recommendations.
How we handle updates and corrections
Government policies and fees change. When they do, we update the affected page and update the visible “Last updated” date. Users who spot an out-of-date figure can email info@thenext.edu.np or the branch address listed on the page. Verified corrections are applied within 5 working days.
How we handle uncertainty
For any claim that is time-sensitive (fees, thresholds, occupation lists, quotas), we state the effective date and instruct readers to confirm the current amount on the official source before applying. Where the underlying rule is still being finalised, we say so clearly rather than guess.
Transparency about our role
The Next Education is a paid education consultancy. We earn commission from partner universities when a student we counsel enrols with them. This does not change our published policy analysis, which is based on government sources, but readers deserve to know it exists.
Complaints, feedback and contact
If you believe a published article is inaccurate, misleading or missing a key official update, email info@thenext.edu.np with the URL and the specific claim. All complaints are reviewed by the Expert Panel and a response is provided within 10 working days.
