Our fact-checking workflow
Every guide, blog and destination page we publish goes through a five-step verification process. The intent is simple: if we cannot point a Nepali student at an official government document that confirms a claim, we do not publish it.
Step 1: Draft against a primary source
The first draft is written directly from a primary government source — an immigration department, education ministry, embassy notice, or official test provider. Every specific number in the draft (fee, threshold, deadline, occupation code) carries an inline citation that names the source and the section.
Step 2: Dual verification
A second team member independently opens each cited government source and confirms three things: (i) the figure matches, (ii) the effective date matches, (iii) no more recent update has been published. Where a figure differs between the government source and other authoritative references, the government source wins.
Step 3: Expert Panel review
The Next Education Expert Panel reviews the article for accuracy, tone and completeness. Panel members flag any claim that is unclear, out of scope, or could be read as a promise about a specific outcome. Panel-marked claims are either corrected or removed.
Step 4: Compliance sign-off
Content that touches immigration, tuition finance or Nepal-side documentation is signed off by our compliance lead against the current rules published by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST), Nepal Rastra Bank, or the equivalent authority for the destination country.
Step 5: Publish with visible attribution
Each published page carries:
- A visible “EXPERT-REVIEWED” badge with the Expert Panel name.
- The date of the last update.
- At least one link to an official source relevant to the article.
- Structured data (JSON-LD) declaring the author and reviewer as The Next Education Expert Panel, plus a FAQPage or HowTo where relevant.
Post-publication checks
- Quarterly refresh: destination hubs, visa-process guides and test-prep pages are re-checked every quarter against the source of truth. If a fee, threshold or date changed, we update the affected article and refresh the last-updated date.
- Policy-change alerts: where a government publishes a Statement of Changes, budget update or notice that materially changes an existing article, we apply the update within 5 working days.
- Reader-flagged issues: readers can email info@thenext.edu.np with an inaccuracy report. We investigate every report and respond within 10 working days.
What we will not do
- Publish a figure that cannot be traced to an official government or official test-provider source.
- Publish a scholarship, quota or fee that we cannot verify on the sponsor’s own website.
- Publish a claim about a specific visa outcome or admission decision.
- Cite a competitor consultancy as an authoritative source for policy or fees.
