Studying MBA in Canada

EXPERT-REVIEWEDReviewed by The Next Education Expert Panel · Originally published February 2026. Last reviewed 3 July 2026.

TL;DR — A Canadian MBA is a one to two year programme typically costing CAD 40,000 to CAD 130,000. GMAT is commonly required by top schools. Graduates receive a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) up to 3 years, and business Masters at public universities are exempt from the field-of-study restrictions IRCC introduced from 1 November 2024.

Canada is often overlooked in the MBA conversation. It is a strong option when total cost, post-graduation work rights, and PR pathway matter more than pure US brand recognition. This piece walks through the choice.

Choosing between one-year and two-year MBA
