Niagara college was founded in 1967 in Welland but later on 1998, new campus was established in Niagara-on-the-lake, Ontario. The college achieved its new height in 2002, becoming the first college in Canada to commercially teach winery through its Niagara college Teaching winery courses. In 2011, the college started Niagara Teaching Brewery courses and became 1st institute in Canada to do so. Now the winery and brewery courses come under the Niagara Colleges Canadian Food & Wine Institute.
In today’s time the college not only focuses on winery and brewery courses but it has more than 130 innovative programs which is relatable and important for future application. Located in Heart of Niagara Region which is well known for Tourism destination. The college is well equipped with laboratories and best-in-class facilities which gives students applied- learning opportunities. The college have 10,500 full time students and around 3000 part-time students, register each year. The college was awarded with a silver rating for attaining sustainable development in Higher Education.
